« It
was never the people who complained of the universality of human rights, nor
did the people consider human rights
as a western or northern imposition. It was often their leaders who did so” Secretary general Kofi A Annan |
We
are a non governmental organisation (Non
profit organisation) and we
are actively involved in the sphere of International Human Rights, Global
security , economic development, economic justice and International Justice, business
and economic rights, conflict resolution
.
We are especially concerned on the daily Disappearances, torture, police abuse ,
corruption in justice system …these are too common practices in the nations of
south and south east Asia. South Asia includes
some of its poorest countries . Civil
war, ethnic tension, religious persecutions
and terrorism are but some of the ailments of this region, as are the
abuse of government power, censorship,
and human rights violations by the corrupt politicians, army, police and
judicial circles .

The
largest part of humanity lives in Asia. East and South east Asia are currently experiencing enormous
economic growth. As the economic importance of the region grows, so does its
political importance. No global problem will be solved without this region's
contribution. At the same time the majority of the world's poor are Asian; The
region is suffering from massive environmental destruction, and the social
problems of the rapid economic development are obvious . Human Rights
violations are wide spread, and minorities oppressed.
In
Asia, civil socities are emerging , are struggling for democratic liberties and
are no longer leaving the future to their countries to governments, generals,
and businessmen. Often they face the same problems that are currently being
faced in Europe ; Not rarely, they find different answers to ours. In Europe
these developments are widely ignored. But it is not only that Asia can learn
from Europe, but also Europe can learn from Asia. Thus we do not perceive
intercultural exchange as a one-way street. The area's for Asian countries and
People are Civil society structuring, Media and freedom of expression,
Transparency and Anti-corruption, rule of Law human rights, conflict
resolution, Women's issues and negative impact of Globalisation on the social ,
cultural, and political lives of people in Asia. Strengthening and defending
the human rights institutions and
defenders in their respective environments.
Many
Asian states have guarantees of human rights in their constitutions , and many
have ratified international instruments on human rights.
However, there continues to be a wide gap
between rights enshrined in these documents and the abject reality that
denies people their right.
